Mr. Ruan O’Tiarnaigh, MSc – Interim Chief Executive & Chief Platform Architect

Mr. O’Tiarnaigh holds a BSc in Pure and Applied Mathematics combined with Computer Science, and an MSc in High Performance Computing.

Whilst working at the Northern Ireland Bio-Engineering Centre (NIBEC) at University of Ulster, and reading for a PhD in High Performance Computing and Electrical Engineering, he stood back from his studies to commercialise his research and launch his first company EZ-DSP Limited. After a successful seed round EZ-DSP secured £1.25M in series A funding. Mr. O’Tiarnaigh designed the development framework for graphical programming of heterogeneous MIMD (Multiple Instruction Multiple Devices) commonly deployed in industrial medical and military applications. EZ-DSP customers included NASA, Lockheed Martin, BAe Systems, Philips Medical. EZ-DSP was successful sold in 2004 to a US buyer.

Mr. O’Tiarnaigh has since participated as a board member in several businesses, developing management information and process systems, and oversight of business efficiency measures implementation. With previous experience with finance, human resourcing, legal he has been successful with VC fundraising. Mr. O’Tiarnaigh’s past customer and client base consists of major blue chip companies including Virgin Active, David Lloyd (UK), Pearson Education (UK and Canada) and Castadiva Pictures (IT)
